Pyrovac<\/strong> is working in partnership with Elkem Metal Canada to build a 1,500 kg\/hour pilot plant to manufacture biocarbon briquettes. This product is intended to replace fossil-based coal used as a reductant in the production of ferrosilicon. The process will then be extended to other sectors of the metallurgy industry, such as steel mills.<\/p>\n

Pyrovac<\/strong> and Polynergy<\/strong>, a subsidiary of the SG Group, are business partners in a $9 M project to build a plant to convert mixed plastics into pyrolytic diesel. Positive test results were obtained in the winter of 2021 with several buses in the public transportation fleet of the City of Montreal. This technology represents a first worldwide and a significant advance in the recovery of non-recyclable plastics.<\/p>\n
